Happy 5-Month Birthday!!

ADubXX is 5 months old today! Your relaxed and (always) happy personality is so very infectious. You have reminded us to slow down, smile more, and be silly. Happy Birthday, sweet girl!

ADubXX’s big accomplishments for the month:

Sometimes you just have to roll with it, and ADubXX has conquered that move, from front to back and back to front. Sometimes you also have to scoot with it, yet another move she has mastered.
She uses Jedi mind tricks to grasp various objects with her hands and insert them into her mouth. Her favorites are the crinkly ones (with the exception of the crinkle cut French fries....those can be a greasy mess).
ADubXX enjoys nursery rhymes and a good knock knock joke here and there, but right now, "Patty Cake" really gets her head over heels in giggles.
She loves watching her big brother. I mean, who wouldn't enjoy watching a 3 year old yell car noises as he drives like the devil on his Harley Davidson tricycle around the house? She even gives him that “you are nuts” look. (the dogs just take cover)
ADubXX wets our faces with her open-mouthed kisses. Someone should really teach these babies that licking faces just isn't very hygienic.....but oh. so. cute.
Shorty loves to stand and often prefers this to sitting or laying down. The world is just a little different when you stand up.

The introduction of solid foods was a success. It took her a couple of days to realize she shouldn't be sucking on the spoon.

Happy 4-Month Birthday!!

Today, our little ADubXX turns 4 months old! You are our little sunshine making us smile and relax a bit more, which is certainly what momma needs. Happy Birthday, sugar bean!

The happenings for this month:

ADubXX smiles all. of. the. time. I think she has increased the million dollar smile to like a trillion dollar smile. (Inflation, people)
She falls asleep without any help. No holding. No rocking. Just sleep. Sweet beautiful sleep.
ADubXX has finally discovered that she not only has hands but that she can grab things with them....only to transport those things on a first class flight straight to her mouth.
She has rolled over a number of times now, and every time she performs this little trick, her big brother runs in announcing to the house that his lil' sis has rolled over. So proud.
She is still a little talker....and those facial expressions indicate that her stories are on-the-edge-of-your-seat thrilling.
ADubXX has spent some serious father-daughter time lately (daddy gets 8 weeks paternity leave...yes, you heard that correctly) and boy, are they two peas in a pod. "Daddy's girl" is taking on a new meaning.
She loves when big brother reads to her from her shapes, colors, and touch-and-feel books.

Mother-daughter matching outfits? Yes, please. Until she can tell me otherwise....and even then....

Happy 3-Month Birthday!!

Today our beautiful ADubXX is 3 months old. Your little personality fits so perfectly into our family, and girl, we are so grateful to be your parents. Happy Birthday, sweet girl!

Here's what has happened this month:

ADubXX has rolled over....once. And of course, Nana was the one to witness it; we still are questioning Nana's "stories" because our little girl just hasn't been motivated to do it again. Second child syndrome?
She loves to small talk (no pun intended), and can share some juicy gossip over diaper changes. Mommy and Daddy are the only ones to understand her, but the translations can be quite interesting.
Every evening, ADubXX reads a book with her bubs and loves to discuss and debate her opinions on Green Eggs and Ham and Curious George Joins the Circus.
She enjoys some serious cuddle time with her puppy, Harvey. They both enjoy the belly-up position; belly-down can be quite frustrating.
Smiling is her all-time favorite past time. She does it in the morning, afternoon, evening, and yes, even in the middle of the night. And it can be quite infectious.
ADubXX has been practicing her phonetics with her brother. She really dominates the AAAAAh sound. Sometimes she even does it when they aren't practicing.
