ADub Visits Florida

For spring break, the Dubs packed up their (practically) everything and headed to Pop's and Grandma's new place in southern Florida.  Our trip in photos:
Prepping for a plane ride.  (Maya is under the seat in front of us)
The pilots let us check out the cockpit.
Cheesing it up with said pilots.
Hanging with Grandma after his first flight.
We hiked around Lover's Key.
I spy an owl.  Do you?
Cooling off while hiking.
An egret.
I spy an (multiple) alligator.  Do you?
The path well traveled.
We chose it.
Pretty.
Banyan trees, where the roots are above the ground.
I haven't found my roots yet.  I prefer the freedom.
Turtle, turtle.
Nature.
More nature.
FYI, he's snoozing.
ADub fell in love with the pool.
Tootsies in the H2O.
First day on vacation: first flight, first swim.  BIG nap.
The definition of "playing it cool."
Pooooool time!
Work. It.
My two pale men hanging out in the shade.
Not so sure about this sand or those waves.
Probably pointing out a babe in a bikini....men.
Wading in the ocean.
More wading in the ocean.
Dip.
This was going to be a spectacular family photo, but ADub couldn't keep his hands off Maya.
Hanging with my boy.
Check out Maya's beard.
ADub, Grandma, and Sophie the Giraffe.
Chillaxing.
Yes, that wave could completely wipe out little ADub.  Thank goodness for fathers.
ADub napping while Maya standing guard.
Celebrating St. Patty's day.  Did you know that St. Patrick is the patron saint of engineering?  You've been fun facted.
ADub got to meet his great aunt.
Selfies by the pool.
More selfies by the pool.
My pool dude.
Walking the grounds at Grandma and Pop's new place.
Such a beachin' family.

Happy 6-Month Birthday!!

Our little mister is officially half a year old today!!  He is turning in to such a neat kid.  I mean, who wouldn't with awesome parents like us?  He still sends me through some wicked emotional roller coasters, from being completely drained and depressed one minute to absolutely crazy and happy the next minute.  He is our world.  Happy Birthday, Baby Dub!
Accomplishments this month:

  • ADub's current how-to-get-from-here-to-there technique: roll and scoot.  He has become a little illusionist.  One minute, he's laying on his blanket playing, and in a FLASH, he's off his blanket headed for an off-the-grid toy.
  • The little guy can sit up with the best of them.  We are currently doing time trials to see how long it takes before he face plants.  I'll keep you updated.
  • Folks, if you can keep your socks on, you have achieved something great.  ADub gets his socks knocked off ALL THE TIME.
  • His favorite song right now is "Ophelia" by the Lumineers.  He goes absolutely nuts on the piano part.  His favorite author is Dr. Seuss (of course) and Sandra Boynton.  We even had to add more from these writers to his collection.
  • Hair has begun to arrive, but no one can tell because it's bleach-blonde.  Ladies, look out, these golden locks and ocean blue eyes are sure to steal your heart.
  • If it's within reach, it will be grabbed, sucked on, and dropped.  It's only science.
Smile, it's photo time:
When he was supposed to be sleeping....
SNEEZE!!  (caught in action)
Open mouth.  Insert foot.
What?!?  The weather is actually nice enough to show off my guns (muscles)!
Celebrating Mommy's birthday!
Building his first tent.  Future boy scout, I'm sure of it.
Hanging out with man's (ADub's) best friend.
He grew his first goatee.
Helping Daddy cook some tacos.....NOM NOM!
He made his first big speech.  It was so riveting that it drew a huge crowd (as you can see).
He was clearly interested in his first museum visit.
He took his first flight.  (Sorry about that foot in his face).
He hammed it up with the pilots.
Relaxing after flying a 737.

He swam in the pool for the first time.
Because who doesn't wear a robe after a dip in the pool?
He dipped his feet in the ocean for the first time.
We may not be in D.C. at the cherry blossoms, but we do have flowering trees and pretty monuments in Indy.
Life is sheer bliss.

Happy 5-Month Birthday!!

ADub is 5 months old today!!  Every day is such an adventure, from the poopy diapers to the incomprehensible baby talk to the infectious giggles.  He is already growing into such a wonderful little person.  Happy Birthday, baby boy!

Here's what happened this month:

  • Stop, drop, and ROLL!!  Prior to this month, we were only rolling from front to back, but newsflash! we are rolling from back to front now too.  Look out Aerosmith, ADub is redefining rock and ROLL!
  • Solid Food=Solid Poop.  Yes, folks, it's a simple math equation.  With the introduction of solid foods, we have yielded solid poop (something that can be quite fetid).
  • ADub is getting pretty good at passing objects from one hand to the next.  Soon, he'll be pulling rabbits out of hats; I'm sure of it.
  • Currently, his favorite song is "Blackbird" by the Beatles, and he requests it every night at bedtime.  I asked him what his favorite book is right now, and he's still deciding.
  • ADub went on his first big hike.  Although he slept through the majority of it, he assures me that he had a blazast (this kid and his language).
  • He officially has a "poop face."

And now for the photoshoot:
Bring on the beach and the babes.
Seriously, guys?
Helping mommy with the laundry.  She had to wash this tank again after I spit up on it.
Hey!  Can I use that to text my girlfriend?
Tasty fingers.
Made you smile.
Petting Maya instead of grabbing her ears.  I get in trouble when I do that.
Mommy and Daddy make the best food!
Shout out to my favorite aunt, Doubles Sharkwhisperer.  Wish you lived closer!
Coaxing me to roll over.
The squash is my favorite.
I love to eat!
....and eat!!
Hangin' with Pops.
Sweet pic.
Let me take some selfies now.
Oh yeah, these are great.
Hike day!
Just my daddy and me.
What's up, punk?!
Suave.
More suave.
More selfies.
A cross between prepping to crawl and downward dog.

Work it, blue eyes.
I'm the luckiest girl to have such a kick-ass family (pardon the language)!

I knew you were mine, like the earth knows the moon."
